The first Education Center, located in Wilmington, made it easy for students in northern New Castle County to receive 1-on-1 tutoring and education services outside of their home or school. Now, Newark, Pike Creek, and southern New Castle County students have a closer Center to go to as well.<\/p>\n
\u201cStudents from Hockessin, lower New Castle County and Eastern Maryland are now able to keep \u201cdrive time\u201d to a minimum, making kids \u2014 and their parents \u2014 very happy,\u201d explains Back to Basics\u2019 Director Beverly Stewart, M.Ed. \u201cWe still tutor in homes and schools but not everyone wants those options.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since opening doors in August of 2011, the Newark Education Center has become the \u201cgo-to\u201d site for 1-on-1 tutoring in Newark and the surrounding areas. Hundreds of tutoring hours have been logged at the site and dozens of students have been helped to improve grades and confidence, standardized test scores, and to participate in educational enrichment activities. Adults are also tutored at that Center, 1-on-1.<\/p>\n
Back to Basics\u2019 Newark location is available for year round 1-on-1 tutoring, Monday through Friday. During the school year, hours are 3:15 p.m. \u2013 9:30 p.m. and summer hours are 7:00 a.m. \u2013 7:45 p.m. Back to Basics\u2019 Wilmington location is open 7 days\/week from 8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
Back to Basics expansion is the most recent step toward the ultimate goal of remaining as accessible as possible for all students \u2014 regardless of location. In addition to the two Centers, Back to Basics\u2019 tutors will also travel to a student\u2019s home, office, or school. This unique option is a crucial factor in the company\u2019s longevity; the company has been an educational mainstay in the tri-state area since 1985 for children and adults in over 60 subjects.<\/p>\n
