And, while many adults can vividly recall the most minute details of that fateful day as if it was yesterday, most schoolchildren <em>were not yet even born.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Teaching about 9-11 is made even more challenging for teachers, since the\u00a0U.S. Department of Education is barred under federal law from having any sort of role in setting curricula. &#8220;By and large, the decision about how to address 9\/11 is left up to individual teachers, some of whom struggle in determining how best to deal with such an important but also sensitive and complex topic,&#8221; explains author Lauren Camera in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usnews.com\/news\/articles\/2016-09-09\/how-to-teach-9-11-to-students-with-no-memory-of-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">US News and World Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Resources for teaching about 9-11 do exist, however.
