But, parents are concerned, too. Many are worried about how they are actually going to pay for some of these institutions of higher learning!<\/p>\n<p>According to the College Board, \u201cthe average cost of tuition and fees for the 2015\u20132016 school year was $32,405 at private colleges, $9,410 for state residents at public colleges, and $23,893 for out-of-state residents attending public universities.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And, at the nation\u2019s most prestigious colleges and universities, the price tags are often much, much higher. For the 2016-2017 school year, the highest priced colleges and universities include:<\/p>\n<p>Columbia University (NY)):\u00a0<strong>2016-2017 tuition and fees: $55,056<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vassar College (NY): \u00a0<strong>2016-2017 tuition and fees: $53,090<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Harvey Mudd College (CA): <strong>2016-2017 tuition and fees: $52,916<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Trinity College (CT): <strong>2016-2017 tuition and fees: $52,760<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Luckily, scholarships can help!<\/em> There are literally thousands of scholarships available for students of every ethnic background, from every level of scholastic success, and for special talents like sports, music, community service, and more.
