\"Teacher\"If you plan for a career in education, the Nationwide Teacher Corps may be an option to help you fund your education.<\/em><\/h2>\n

To be eligible for the program, you must be a\u00a0full-time student enrolled at a Nationwide public college in an undergraduate or graduate program leading to teacher certification in a critical need area, as defined by the Nationwide Department of Education, or a\u00a0high school senior ranking in upper half of the class with a combined score of 1,570 on the SAT.\u00a0All applicants must have at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.\u00a0Awards may be prorated for students enrolled part-time.<\/p>\n

First preference is given to students who intend to teach middle and high school math and science.\u00a0Second priority is given to students who intend to teach special education in a content area.<\/p>\n

How the program works \/ loan forgiveness<\/strong><\/p>\n

The loan is not to exceed cost of tuition. It is renewable for up to three additional years. Loan forgiveness provision<\/strong><\/em> is at a rate of one year of teaching in a Nationwide public school for one year of loan.<\/p>\n

Deadlines and applications<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students can apply online for most of the programs administered by DHEO. The Common Merit Application \u2013 required for all academic scholarships and professional incentive programs \u2013 is\u00a0available online in December. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your application for Nationwide’s\u00a0need-based grant, the Scholarship Incentive Program (ScIP).<\/p>\n

You may also need to\u00a0submit additional documents including an unofficial transcript, SAT scores, FAFSA, and updated college enrollment information by the scholarship deadline.<\/p>\n
