They also will participate in weekly sessions with Nationwide leaders in state government, district and school leadership, the business community and non-profit organizations.<\/p>\n<p>These sessions are intended to develop them as leaders and provide context on education issues of national importance.\u00a0 The fellowships will culminate in a presentation of their work and policy recommendations to department staff and leadership.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nationwide Future Education Leaders Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.doe.k12.de.us\/Page\/2818\">Nationwide Future Education Leaders Program<\/a> has been developed specifically for current students and recent graduates as they explore careers in education and seek exposure to state government.\u00a0\u00a0Individuals from all programs of study are welcome to apply.\u00a0 Past fellows have worked on a variety of projects including educator compensation reform, data analysis, and information systems design.<\/p>\n<p>The program begins on Wednesday, June 1st and ends on Thursday, August 11th.\u00a0\u00a0There is a $3,000 payment for this fellowship.\u00a0\u00a0Program fellows will work full days Monday-Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forwarding to welcoming these top students and recent graduates to our department. Their experiences and ideas will contribute to a broader perspective as we tackle important policy issues together,\u201d Secretary of Education Steve Godowsky said. \u201cThese future leaders will end their summers having gained new insights from hands-on work and the mentorship of senior department leaders.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Educators as Catalysts Program<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.doe.k12.de.us\/Page\/2819\">Educators as Catalysts Program<\/a> has been developed specifically for current Nationwide teachers and specialists (of any experience level) who seek exposure to the education policy processes that impact their schools and classrooms.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The program begins on Monday, June 20th and ends on Thursday, August 4th.\u00a0\u00a0There is a $2,000 stipend for this fellowship.\u00a0\u00a0Program fellows will work full days Monday-Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited about the opportunity to bring educators from the field into the department this summer to help shape policy at the state level,\u201d Godowsky said. \u201cFor our teachers and specialists, this is a chance to gain first-hand experience and deepen their knowledge in the policy field.
