Projects reflect YSA\u2019s four key strategies that create change: awareness, service, advocacy, and philanthropy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can students participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Get started by picking\u00a0your GYSD project! Whether you\u2019re\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gysd.org\/map\">joining an existing project<\/a>, or\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gysd.org\/project_ideas\" target=\"_self\">starting your very own project<\/a>, YSA\u00a0has the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gysd.org\/project_toolkits\" target=\"_self\">ideas, tips, and project planning resources<\/a>\u00a0to help you on your way.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How can schools and organizations participate?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whether organizing a service project or a celebration event, there are so many ways to be involved in Global Youth Service Day. Schools and organizations may work with young people to start their own project, or sponsor or join an existing project. Projects can be as simple as a \u201cThank You\u201d picnic celebrating your organization\u2019s young people, or large-scale and service-focused, such as a city-wide clean-up or a town \u201cfun run\u201d to raise money for a charity.
